Pasqua de les Avellanes is a meeting of young people who gather every year to celebrate the Holy Week. We have been doing it for more than 50 years now (indeed, you read that correctly!), with our own style, permanently young and in a privileged space. We have a clear objective: to live, as young people, the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth.
Every year we choose a theme to accompany us during Easter. This year's theme is:
R-Revolution!
- R stands for renewal, for rebirth and for the revival of hope.
- Evolution, because true change comes from within and spreads outwards.
- Revolution, because the Gospel invites us to overturn the logic of the world and to make the Kingdom of God a living reality, here and now.
We live a historical moment marked by paradoxes: technological and scientific advances have improved many aspects of our lives, but at the same time they have also increased inequalities, loneliness, and the crisis of values. Jesus apprehend us to become agents of change: not to remain indifferent, but to be part of a spiritual revolution that places love, justice and human dignity at the very centre.
This Easter we will reflect on three fundamental themes:
- Transforming ourselves: what changes do we need to make on a personal level to be more in line with the values of the Gospel?
- Transforming the world: how can we make our little contribution in order to build a more fair society?
- The kingdom as a revolution: how can we live the transformative proposal of Jesus today?
